International Conference on Applied Research in Economics 2013

The HSE - Perm is organizing a conference on Applied Research in Economics: Empirical Analysis of Markets & Enterprises to be held in Perm on September 18-20, 2013.

The conference aims at providing a high level academic forum on the subject theme by bringing international participants together in Russia. It is the first conference on the topic in Perm, and we are going to make it regular.

The Chair of the Programme Committee is Grigory Kosenok, Professor of the New Economic School.

Topics of interest include, but not limited to:

• Empirical corporate finance
• Empirical analysis of markets and enterprises

The language of the conference is English.

No registration fee involved. Travel is not paid by the organizers. The Conference Organizing Committee will cover a closing dinner and cultural programme. Information about the venue will be distributed later. 
HSE – Perm will award a few grants:

• to the most outstanding papers as a contribution to cover travel and accommodation expenses
• for international PhD-students or post-docs (up to 200 EURO + accommodation in the student residence).

The city of Perm (associated with the Permian geologic period) was founded in 1723 and is often described as an industrial center. A city of almost 1,000,000 people, Perm is situated on the Kama river, 1200 km east of Moscow (4-5 hours by air from/to European destinations, usually with one connection) and is particularly famous for its Opera and Ballet Theater.
